Are we supposed to take these Wackos seriously?
Newsweek is carrying a story on a Female Priest, "ordained" at Eden Theological Seminary - probably should be named Eden Theatrical Seminary. Apparently these people are approved by the Ecumenical Catholic Communion who decline the authority of the Pope, but still see themselves as Roman Catholic. This paragon of virtue - who is also married by the way - starts this week at Saints Clare & Francis, a breakaway parish in Webster Groves, as an "associate pastor". (associate pastor? Whats that? Answers on a postcard to ....).
So we have a married priest, working at a breakaway parish preaching the virues of catholicism who denys that the Pope has anything to do with it. To round off this ecumenical "buy one get one free (in nine months)" package, she apparently commented on her recent appointment saying:
"To be a pregnant priest will just add a whole other dimension".
I wonder if the baby will be referred to as an "associate Human". Call me old fashioned, but trust me even I recognise the world has moved on a little since The Wheel was invented - sometimes I wonder though if our brains evolved as much as our social practices have (Dang there's that fella Darwin again 
). Twenty years ago, if you'd handed that one as a script to Hollywood, you would have been labelled as a Day Release from the local Funny Farm.
Its possible thats why we've never suffered an Alien invasion, with the whole Universe to choose from, why bother with this Planet of Fruitcakes
